Rocket launch poem in Scientific American magazine

illustration of a rocket launching into space

Did you know Scientific American magazine has a poetry column? They do, and my poem, "Rocket Launch Laconic" is featured in the September issue this year!

It's a sound poem, it's fun, and you may need a dictionary (I did, when I wrote it). It's about the thrill of a rocket launch that's sending astronauts into space.

Grab your copy if you're a subscriber, or run to your nearest library or favorite indie bookstore (if it's still August or September 2024) and flip to page 87.

Otherwise, click here to read the poem on the Sci Am website (note, there's an ad stuck between the first and second stanzas; just keep scrolling to keep reading.)

I hope you enjoy it!
