On Friday, February 28, 2025, Roosevelt Elementary invited all kinds of community members, including elected officials, on campus for Read with Roosevelt, the Read Across America tradition that's been happening there for nearly 30 years.

I've read just about every year since my youngest started in Kindergarten, usually in my kiddos' classrooms and then some, and I love being able to tell students "you can find all my books in the school library!" I also organized this event for a few years, and the best part was feeling the love from readers, who have such a great time sharing books with students. Some readers have attended most, if not all, of the Read With Roosevelt events over the decades, and some are former organizers of the event whose children are long-since grown up.

My forthcoming book, Camilla and the Fall Festival, is all about the significance and importance of traditions, and Read with Roosevelt is a tradition I hope continues long into the future.
